| RMN Helped Sendong Victims Nationwide |
 |
Typhoon Sendong struck Northern Mindanao, Visayas and Palawan last December 16, 2011, just right before Christmas, killing over thousands of fellow Filipinos, evacuating more than 100,000 families to the nearest relief centers and hundreds of people still missing up to this very day. RMN Cagayan de Oro and Iligan witnessed this appalling time. Colleagues and their families suffered the wrath of typhoon Sendong. One of RMN Iligan's field reporter passed away during this tragedy and many more were deeply affected by the flash flood. As part of RMN's pledge to help, they started a campaign to rehabilitate Visayas and Mindanao. RMN Mission Mindanao Tutulong Ako! is a joint venture of all RMN stations, gathering support from different public and private sectors and donations from all employees and concerned citizens nationwide. More than 10,000 boxes of clothes, 5 truckloads of water bottle, 200 sacks of grocery items, 100 sacks of rice, 3 boxes of medicine and P2.3 Million pesos worth of cash donations were collected. RMN was able to help more than 10,000 families, giving them warmth, food and a little bit of comfort. Indeed, RMN reached out - Helping Filipinos Nationwide.
